Understanding the unique techniques of core yoga for your physical body -- breathing, stretching, strengthening and relaxation -- and the benefits that emerge, is only the first step.
Next, the practice of "Yoga As A Way Of Life" explores the possibility of lasting happiness, limitless strength and inner freedom that is the result of applying yoga practices and principles to your mental/emotional lives. Christopher Baxter, RA, is both a registered professional architect (RA) and a seasoned yoga practitioner with more than 30 years experience. He is the author of Kripalu Hatha Yoga and has been a retreat leader, mentor, teacher/trainer and seminar director since 1984. For 20 years he was a founding member and on the core faculty of Kripalu Center in Lenox, MA, the largest residential yoga training facility in North America. As a founding director of the Kripalu Yoga Teachers Association (KYTA), he was instrumental in the development of Kripalu Yoga and Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training, as well as being a founder of Yoga Alliance, the national affiliation of yoga teachers and teacher training schools.
He currently offers classes, seminars and private instruction at Discovery Yoga Center in St. Augustine, FL, where he is the main teacher in the professional level 500-hour Teacher Certification Program.
